Dog safety visit today.

Today we had a dog, Amber, visit our school today. Amber is a very calm golden retriever and is also a pet therapy dog.

She was teaching us about dog safety.

Us practicing the turtle, we can do this if we feel threatened by a dog.

Taylor learnt that if a dog is on its own, leave it alone.

Jayden learnt that if there is a dog behind a gate, don't tease it, it could bite you.

Jessica learnt that if you want to meet a dog, ask the owner, then put your hand out and let it sniff you, then you can pat it.

Moriah learnt that how to pick up poo properly.

Faith I learnt that if you want to pat a dog you don't just go up to it and pat it, you have to ask the owner first.

Kanji/Calligraphy Art with Miss Sickels

Today for our art lesson Miss Sickels taught us how to write Kanji in traditional Japanese fashion.

Here are some of the calligraphy we worked on so carefully. Half of the class did it today and the other half will be doing it next week.

We are really lucky to have Miss Sickels in here with us to do this. As well as teaching us Kanji, she is fluent in Japanese too. This meant we could ask her how to do lots of different Kanji... Thanks Miss Sickels!
