Dragons Den/Shark Tank - Holiday homework

Dragons Den/Shark Tank Project

Your goal is to create an invention to solve a problem or create a product.

During the holidays you will need to work on your ideas, do some research, choose your best idea, and start making a model or a drawing of your invention. Ask people to give you some feedback about your product or invention.

Before your presentation...

You will need a name for your product and a name for your company.

You will need a drawing or a model to show.

Get ready for your presentation... It will really help to practise in front of your family and write up what you want to say.

Below is what a normal design process looks like... don't expect everything to go smoothly.

100 Word Challenge Tommy

Attack on silent airfield

The most dangerous and biggest airfield has to defend an attack, will they survive?
With the Russian generals ready to strike, silent airfield was just a yellow airfield with black airplanes, violins and eaten away airplanes that swept across the sky in the past, but now they don't. The attack made loads of noise with the Russian Bears dropping bombs on the airfield, every plane was in the sky, but one, the V-749. A Russian plane that could blow the battlefield away. When the plane was launched, the sky got so bright, that it went black...

100 Word Challenge - Keira H

100 word challenge                                                                                                     Did you know I'm bright yellow like the simpson family. Well. I wasn't born yellow my family isn't even yellow. It’s because of my weird school!!! Slowly I turned yellow .I was playing with my toy airplane . I swept it across the room  then… I let go and CRASH strat into the yellow gunge filled villon. Gunge came crashing out all over me the teacher came in with a “ROAR”!!!. “Go outside and eat your lunch “said my teacher. But I've already eaten my lunch. Then mop this floor  like a maid would!!!!why? Because I want this floor tidy.
If I was the teacher I would of just tell me to get the cleaner to tidy this gunge.

100 Word Challenge - Jessica

                            100  word   challenge

She  had  just  eaten  a  whole  big  bag  of  yellow  chips  and  then  swept  up  her Violin and started  playing.
Then  she  heard an  airplane   in   the   sky  so  she  looked  up,  blinded by the sun she trips up  and falls  on the road. The driver didn’t see her.
She   broke  her   leg  very  badly  from  top  to  bottom.   10  stitches  in  her  leg , a yellow  cast  that  had pictures of airplanes  and violins  on the  cast.
She felt  very  sorry  for  herself because   she couldn't  do   any  of  her sports like netball, swimming, dance, running club, soccer, and AFL. A few weeks later she went to get her cast off so it could  be  xrayed. It  had  healed so she was free of being stuck inside.
                                                                           THE END

100 Word Challenge - Ellie

100   word challenge

There, stuck in a big room,no doors,no windows.I then say”am I ever  going to get out of here?
All of a sudden a bucket of yellow paint with  an  airplane  on  it  appears,so… I pick it up and splash a little on the wall. there was a message on the wall that said “the air is going to get thinner  and thinner and thinner”I then think what does that mean, will it really happen??

I   hear a soothing sound of the violin and get swept into a dream...I woke up and couldn't move at all?I then feel the air pressure getting less  and less and less.Then...it goes BLACK…

Dog safety visit today.

Today we had a dog, Amber, visit our school today. Amber is a very calm golden retriever and is also a pet therapy dog.

She was teaching us about dog safety.

Us practicing the turtle, we can do this if we feel threatened by a dog.

Taylor learnt that if a dog is on its own, leave it alone.

Jayden learnt that if there is a dog behind a gate, don't tease it, it could bite you.

Jessica learnt that if you want to meet a dog, ask the owner, then put your hand out and let it sniff you, then you can pat it.

Moriah learnt that how to pick up poo properly.

Faith I learnt that if you want to pat a dog you don't just go up to it and pat it, you have to ask the owner first.

Some of our art is up in the Hutt Library!

Kanji/Calligraphy Art with Miss Sickels

Today for our art lesson Miss Sickels taught us how to write Kanji in traditional Japanese fashion.

Here are some of the calligraphy we worked on so carefully. Half of the class did it today and the other half will be doing it next week.

We are really lucky to have Miss Sickels in here with us to do this. As well as teaching us Kanji, she is fluent in Japanese too. This meant we could ask her how to do lots of different Kanji... Thanks Miss Sickels!
